Choo Choo!

Something we expected to do as soon as we heard about it, the Day Out With Thomas (put on by the good people at Mt. Hood Railroad is exactly what you'd expect it to be... a mess of toddlers and their favorite anthropomorphic steam engine. (Spoiler alert: not an actual steam engine.)

As it turned out, the drive out to Hood River turned out to be as exciting as the event itself. As soon as we could get up to freeway speeds on I-84, we got a flat tire! Fortunately, Grandpa Clevenger and I were able to change the tire quickly enough and (with the help of the Grandmas) avoid a mutiny. (Grandpa and I are going to try out for a NASCAR team next year.)

We were joined by Ella and Brooklyn (and new baby brother Evan), Wyatt and Elliot, Mason, and Owen and Zamara. Having friends along made the train ride extra fun (although, sadly, the train setup the boys played with was probably about as fun as the train ride itself).

Sir Topham Hatt, who probably had the worst job in the world that day The Nelsons Jennifer and Wyatt Logan and Mason, having a 'pretty good' time I have about a dozen pics of Zamara popping her head up over the seats Ella, Evan, and Brooklyn... maybe even in that order, who knows? Zach, enjoying the ride So close, Chapmans... so close! Evan and Keith Owen and Zamara Boys looking out the window with Mason Ella (as I likely get myself in trouble) holds her certificate Leighann and Patrick Elliot (who won the 'biggest smile' award for our group), and Jennifer Wyatt shows us his ticket Elliot Wyatt w/ his grandma Jeff and Owen Corie and Zamara Zach and Brooklyn Zach and Ella (for posterity, of course) STAMP! It's Thomas Zach takes the grandmas through the hay maze Logan playing with the trains The school bus ride back to the car was almost as exciting The little tire that could!
