Much to talk about

For our first Fourth of July, we decided to enjoy the day at home (that, and we were pretty sure that the boys weren't up to our annual tradition of watching the Fort Vancouver fireworks display on the boat... at 10 o'clock at night... just a thought...) That means I was able to get my rear in gear and update the website...

Great Grandma and Grandpa Gent's 60th wedding anniversary

At the end of June, my grandparents celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary! (Grandma even admitted that she still likes the guy! NICE!) We attended their reception and was sure to capture our own shot of "4 generations of Thompson-Gent-Rose" and one with Great-Grandpa, Grandpa, Dad, and boys:

Eating - always the sanitary experience

Every family needs pictures of kids making a mess while eating, and we're no different. What got me in the mood for this was a trip to the Portland Farmers' Market a couple of weeks ago, where I picked up some beets. Logan actually didn't hate them. Zach, well... he wasn't so impressed. Anyway, to make a long story short, we now know why beets aren't sold by baby food companies.

The boys have enjoyed sweet potatoes and applesauce the most, and peaches and pears are always winners as well. We tried peas once, and by the sounds of their cries you would have thought we were trying to get state secrets out of them. (I did try sugar-snap peas once, and they didn't hate them as much.) We just tried avacodos this week, and they seemed to like that.

Hair and teeth

Both Logan and Zach are now sporting two bottom teeth, but Logan jumped ahead in the hair department this month. He's even starting to get the (as Robyn affectionally calls it) "wingy" hair that I used to have when I was little.

Keith, Julie, Ella, and Brooklyn

We didn't want to feel like total losers on this Fourth of July, so we invited another family over who also has twins and couldn't justify staying out late tonight. Robyn met Julie at the local twins club here in Portland. Their daughters are Ella and Brooklyn. Hilarity ensues... (And in case you're wondering: No, there are no arranged marriages planned. However, Zach and Ella sure seemed to hit it off...)

Other pictures

The rest of the pictures are a mish-mash of photos we've taken over the last month and have been meaning to post for about as long.

You mean the babies don't just eat chicken and diet coke?? They must take after their father then....

Love the pictures--so cute! It's been way too long since I've checked up on you guys!! Hope the entire fam is doing well!

I agree, the one at the end is awesome. I'm excited to get the 4 generation picture taken when the little guy comes. Not too long now! :)

Love to see the boy's smiling faces!

Thanks for the update. My favorite pic is the one of the three boys at the end. I can't wait to see all of you again!
