Airplanes + 7 month old twins = about as much fun as it sounds
Actually, to be truthful, it wasn't as bad as we expected. After cutting out of work early on the 23rd, my humble employer Dennis took us to the airport in his monster truck (which was necessary in order to get all of our stuff there). After checking 2 carseats and 2 big duffel bags, we made our way through the security checkpoint in a reasonable amout of time.
Robyn, being who she is (in case you've forgotten, re-read this), got us to the airport 2 full hours early, so naturally we were past security 45 minutes after arriving. Can't complain though... it gave us time to enjoy a nice meal at Gustav's, look through the books at Powell's, and still get to the gate with time to spare.
As I mentioned earlier, we were pleasantly surprised with the flight down. Of course, we were expecting these boys to be screaming their brains out for the two and a half hour flight (being particularly loud during takeoff and landing), but it turned out to be no problem at all. They sat on our laps with toys and a blanket for each. Zach slept for most of the flight, while Logan was interested in all the new sights and sounds and people.
Thursday, Great-Grandpa Clevenger
On Thursday we made it out to Arcadia to visit Robyn's Grandfather. He was very excited to meet the boys, and we got some good shots of each of the 4 generations of Clevengers that were present. We also got a visit from Ben Cowan, Robyn's long time friend from high school.
Friday, Grandma's school buddies
Friday was the day we made it out to Grandma Beeber's school to visit friends who work with her. Too busy passing boys around to take pics... oops! We did get a couple of them in the morning.
Saturday, Microwave repairmen
Saturday got hijacked because their over-the-range microwave went kaput. Bill and I went out to Whittier and back to pick up the new appliance and get it installed. I got paid in beer and In 'n Out, so I can't complain (I mean come on, TANSTAAFL).
Sunday, Family & Friends
Sunday was the big party that the Clevengers invited the world to. We must've had 40+ people through their house throughout the day.
Monday, wind down
Finally, a day to relax!
Tuesday, a VERY early plane flight home
Our trip ended before daybreak on Tuesday, when we woke up at 4am to get to LAX, where we were luckly (and dangerously) on-time for our flight. Why? because I'm an an idiot and wanted to try to get half a day of work in, which I did.
Can't complain though, we had a really good trip.
